Employee child transfer process for 2023-2024 school year now open

If you are interested in transferring your child to a Lake Travis school for the 2023-2024 instructional year, the transfer window is now open. According to Board policies FDA (Local) and FDB (Local), you must complete a transfer request form if you:

  • Currently have a child in PK-12th grade enrolled at an LTISD school and you live outside of LTISD boundaries (i.e., live in Austin ISD boundaries but the child attends an LTISD school);

  • Currently have a child in PK-12th grade enrolled at an LTISD school and live outside of that school’s attendance zone (i.e., live in LTISD boundaries but child attends an LTISD school that is outside of the attendance zone for your residence); or

  • Have a child in PK-12th grade who currently attends a school in another district and you would like them to attend an LTISD school next year.

Transfer requests are considered according to district policy, approved for a one-year period, and are not automatically granted.

The LTISD Employee Child Transfer Form must be completed and submitted by 5:00 pm, Friday, May 5. Forms received after the deadline will not be considered. Transfers are only approved for one school year, so even if your child is a returning transfer student, you must complete the form. 

Employees who successfully submit a transfer request form will receive notification beginning in April. If you are granted a transfer for the 2023-2024 school year, you are responsible for transportation of your child to the campus and agree to all conditions indicated on the transfer request form. If you are denied a transfer, you are required to enroll your student at your campus of residence.
